South Nashville-based neighborhood pub The Melrose is changing its name to M.L.Rose Craft Beer & Burgers, in part, to differentiate itself from other area establishments, owner Austin Ray announced Monday.

The Melrose pub on Franklin Road is changing its name to M.L.Rose Craft Beer & Burgers, as it prepares to open its second Nashville location this summer.

Nashville-based restaurateur Austin Ray announced Wednesday his company has purchased the former Lavender Motors site at 4408 Charlotte Ave., on which he plans to operate a neighborhood bar.

Austin Ray, owner of The Melrose pub in Berry Hill, has purchased the former Lavender Motors site at the corner of Charlotte Avenue and 45th Avenue, where he plans to open his next project.
