Lest you think Nashville is just a hockey town because of our rabid fandom of our beloved Predators, Music City is a pretty strong soccer town, too! (Soccer? That’s the one that’s like hockey on grass, right?) Seriously, Nashville has hosted some huge crowds for international football matches and World Cup qualifiers in the past, and… Continue reading Where to Watch the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Nashville
Spring is technically here, and while the weather is trying to make its final turn, it’s time to start limbering up and getting prepared for a little friendly competition at your favorite restaurant or bar. It’s been a busy summer and fall for Austin Ray. Barely two months ago, the Nashville restaurateur opened Von Elrod’s Beer Garden & Sausage House across from First Tennessee Park near Germantown. On Saturday, he’s set to open his newest M.L. Rose Craft Beer & Burgers at hospital chain HCA’s new 1100 Charlotte at Capitol View building in the North Gulch.
All that paleo dining got you feeling like clubbing somebody? Can’t quite reach the perfect state of ketogenesis without punching a wall? Or are you just coming off a three-day juice cleanse and therefore desperate for something to sink your teeth into?
On a hot summer afternoon in the back beer garden of the original M.L. Rose, decision makers from both the Eighth Avenue and Charlotte locations are drinking a lot of beers, an ounce or so at a time.
There’s no question that Nashville’s burger game is strong. Heck, even Thrillist’s National Burger Critic Kevin Alexander came through town on a greasy tour of some of our best patties and did a pretty darned good job at identifying some of the top spots (for a carpetbagger).
Ray, whose A. Ray Hospitality portfolio also includes The Sutler Saloon, Melrose Billiard Parlor and the soon-to-open Von Elrod’s Beer Garden & Sausage House, has purchased an M.L.Rose food truck, which he hopes to roll out before the neighborhood bar’s third location opens in the Capitol View development later this year.
I have a friend who doesn’t like brunch. Naturally, we mock him and shun him on weekends, but I get it — he’s a boy, and before the #BrosWhoBrunch came to town with their flat-billed caps and BNA tank tops, brunch was a pretty girly ordeal. But in today’s Nashville, brunch knows no gender, so… Continue reading Nashville Brunch Beverage Finder
It’s patio season, and, whether you’re in search of a pint and a lawn game in The Nations or hoping for a place to put down your picnic spread outside of town, here’s our guide to making the most of this all-too-short window of outdoor opportunity. WEST NASHVILLE M.L.Rose Craft Beer & Burgers Rest alongside… Continue reading Nashville’s Best Patios for a Drink
M.L.Rose is a great spot to watch the game and meet some pals for a drink. We’d recommend the sweet potato fries and one of their creative burger options. Grab a pint of beer and head on over where both the young and old hang out. There’s no judgment, here – and no reservations.
Nashville favorite M.L.Rose Craft Beer & Burgers is bringing its popular sweet potato buns, signature waffle fries and extensive craft beer menu to the Gulch this year.

The sweetness of the sweet potato bun on M.L. Rose’s NashVegas Burger is a welcomed complement to the barbecue sauce, rich pimiento cheese and crispy tobacco onions that top this craft burger. M.L. Rose does not have a shortage of burger options but this one is a stand-out, as it’s served on something other than… Continue reading 25 Pretty Excellent Burgers in Nashville
M.L. Rose has two locations — one in West Nashville (pictures on the left) and one in the Melrose neighborhood (pictured on the right). Both locations have large patios with giant Jenga for entertainment and fire pits for ambience and warmth. The Melrose location is mostly covered, while the West location is mostly uncovered.\r\n
Both the Charlotte Avenue and Melrose locations offer giant Jenga, but the West Nashville spot gets the nod with its large front yard space and outdoor dart boards, making it an ideal spot to grab a beer, a burger and a good hang.
M.L.Rose Craft Beer and Burgers is well-known for, well … craft beer and burgers. So when it came time to come up with their May Burger of the Month, it figures that owner Austin Ray would reach out to his friends at Jackalope to actually create a special beer for both locations of the restaurant… Continue reading M.L.Rose & Jackalope Team Up for a Collaboration Brew
M.L. Rose has two locations one on Franklin Road and the other is off of Charlotte Pike! They are known for their wide selection of craft beers and have the best burgers! Both offer awesome patios but I think my favorite is going to be the one on Franklin Rd. They just expanded it and… Continue reading 18 of the Best Patios in Nashville!
The Tennessean sought out best ways to “play with your food,” and you bet our loaded waffle fries top the list!
This is our go-to spot on Monday nights for trivia and burgers (the west Nashville location). Their trivia special includes two-for-one burgers, and what’s not to like about that? This spot has a great beer selection of bottled and draft beers, perfect for burgers. There are morning people, and then there are night people. Both of them are good. Morning people do tend to irritatingly use the phrase “good morning,” though, which is irritating and may cause irritation. Just thinking about it makes me irritated. Only one cure: a burger after midnight the size of a baby’s head, smothered… Continue reading 5 to Try: Late Night Bites
M.L.Rose Good Morning Burger – Take an almost perfect burger made with local beef topped with bacon and cheddar. Now add a sunny-side-up egg. You can forget that “almost” part.
If you’re not in the mood for a burger, the wings at M.L. Rose are a solid choice. The East of Melrose sauce is sweet with a kick of spice and big chunks of garlic to round out the flavor. If you like cilantro try the Verde wings, flavored with green tabasco, cilantro and scallions.
